Discussion
GLOBE's protocol for surveying canopy and ground cover is a widely accepted standard. Because of this, we are able to compare our biometry measurements with those taken by other GLOBE participants around the world. The GLOBE-based biometry measurements we collected will eventually be analyzed amongst those taken by our peers, which will allow for a thorough analysis of land use and cover change throughout the greater Lewis & Clark College area. The data we are gathering as a class is unique, as it includes forested areas as well as suburban landscapes. We will be able to use our current land cover data to compare with historical data from this area.
